I'm Max Travers – aka MAX PLANETS – an illustrator and designer making comics, storyboards, character designs, and other cool visuals.
Originally from St. Louis, MO, I've lived in places like New Orleans and New York City, but have now escaped to the desert of Tucson, AZ. So many people have asked me "Why Tucson?" that it became my internet password. (The answer is I rode a sandworm and joined the Fremen, obviously).
My illustration work is largely inspired by the comics, cartoons, music, and video games that I grew up with in the 90s. I love tackling subjects relating to space/science fiction, hip hop music, and food, with a hint of playfulness and surrealism in my work.
When I'm not drawing, I like to paint. When I'm not painting, I'm probably nerding out about UFOs or hiking in the desert.
